Final part of the community fuel pumps project completed
- electric charging points now available.

This was made possible by Scottish Borders Council and Transport for Scotland who have provided the new Efacec charging point. The charging point is double sided, enabling two cars to Fast-charge any compatible vehicle from zero to 80% in less than an hour at the same time. Charging will be free initially, thereafter paid for by per KW of electricity used.

“This is another milestone day for the village of Newcastleton and the wider hinterland. The community development trust is doing everything it can to ensure that nothing stops us or our visitors doing our bit for the environment. We are increasingly seeing more urban day trippers using our tourism facilities and having this unit ensures we can now actively market to even more. Knowing they can recharge themselves and their vehicles before returning home will bring more spending to the village. We are delighted to be one of the remotest locations in Scotland to be hosting one.”
